Hey Stranger, thanks for stopping by!
I guess an introduction should be the first thing I post. Not quite sure why it feels necessary, but alas, it does.
For those of you who haven’t been following my free-flowing lifestyle for the past 8 or so years, welcome to my chaos. I’m Jade, some people call me Wild Thing or WT for short. And, I’ve been traveling the world and living a pretty unusual lifestyle since 2014.
Here you will find anything from photos of places I enjoy, tips for traveling, reviews and suggestions, down to the nitty gritty of how I make and sometimes happily fail to make it all happen. Or not. Honestly though, I graduated in 2012 with a degree in journalism and I’ve had a URL for about 10 years and have tried to start this a bajillion times. So, we will see if this one sticks.
From the beginning then, shall we?
My Mama made sure I was well-traveled before I even entered the 9th grade. I was bitten by the bug at a young age when I jumped off of cliffs into the crystal blue waves in Jamaica and snowboarded the snowy peaks of Northstar, CA.
My first solo travel occurred my Senior year of high school when I took a 2.5 weeks trip to Europe with a suitcase so heavy I physically couldn’t lift it and eyes so wide I would've been an easy target for kidnapping. Looking back now, I laugh at the absurdity of the naive 18-year-old who thought she knew even a sliver of what traveling the world was like and all it has to offer.
Fast forward to being a college graduate living in the Hollywood Hills with a fully-furnished, one-bedroom apartment and a “grown up” job. My life was, from an outsiders’ perspective, adult, gossip worthy, consistent, pretty perfect and successful. Meanwhile, I was miserable in the sense of consistency and stability. I wanted thrill. I wanted adventure. I craved the unknown. So I quit. The job. The friends. The apartment. And, I didn’t know it at the time, but that was the last time I had any regrets.
Which leads us to today. The stillness. The good, bad and ugly - to mountain topping, sea surfing and all the breathtaking in between. I will try to take you on the journeys; but know that no amount of photos or words could ever come close to the real experience. That’s all for you to go outside and find.
Happy adventures!
